Science Fair

3rd annual science fair πŸ‘©β€πŸ”¬ 🧬

Dear Science Fair participants,

We received guidance from the school district that we need to make a few modifications to accommodate this year's Science Fair. We will be converting this year's fair to a recorded production to accommodate a Virtual Fair for the school.

  1. The Science Fair will be set up in the MPR as usual. In order to comply with social distancing, we ask participants to arrive on the following appointment-based schedule to enter the MPR with their families:
    • 6:00PM - Kindergarten & 1st Grade
    • 6:30PM - 2nd Grade
    • 7:00PM - 3rd Grade
    • 7:30PM - 4th and 5th Grade
  2. If you cannot make your scheduled appointment please email indysciencefair@gmail.com and let us know and we can assign a different time slot.
  3. Participants will have the option to record a 30-sec presentation. Parents will need to sign a waiver giving permission to record your child. If no permissions are received, only the board will be recorded. After completing the tour, we ask all students to collect their board, ribbon, and food before leaving.
  4. Please note this accommodation will only be for Science Fair participating students and their healthy family members. All other Indy students (example: non-Science Fair students and interested community members) will need to participate virtually once the video production is live.

Thank you again for your flexibility in this change. We look forward to seeing the Science Fair participants tonight.

3rd annual science fair πŸ‘©β€πŸ”¬ 🧬

Independent is happy to announce that we will be hosting our 3rd Annual School Science Fair on Wednesday, March 11, 2020 from 6:00 - 7:30 P.M.

Wednesday, February 12th is the LAST DAY to turn in your entry form to your teacher or online (https://forms.gle/bjrR5Sg5Av581JWj9). Note: You only need to register one way

Last year we had over 120+ participants, and we are looking forward to your child(ren)ΚΌs participation this year! Exposing elementary-age children to a variety of scientific experiences at home and at school increases the likelihood that they will develop positive attitudes toward STEM-related material. Participants may bring to school any science project that they have worked on at home.

If your family has not explored science, now is a great time to create a meaningful science research project.
